All five of the above mentioned fighters were great champions with more punching power than Floyd. Just stop with all of the Mayweather hate and recognize greatness when its staring you in the face. Could he do it today in his diminished state? no way. Could Manny have beaten Mayweather in his heyday, maybe… if all the stars alined perfectly that night. Mayweather is a great counterpuncher and you can’t make mistakes with him. Mayweather has none.Īll that aside, styles make fights and even though Manny is a tough, powerful, left handed pressure fighter (the best recipe for beating floyd) he makes a lot of mistakes with his aggressive style and is open to a good counterpuncher (see Marquez). Pacquiao has FIVE defeats on his record and should have several more if not for the gifts he received in the Marquez fights. In four fights Manny was unable to decisively defeat Marquez yet Floyd easily beat him after a two year layoff. Manny has lost his last two fights, (one could argue his last three) the most recent a devastating knock out by Juan Manuel Marquez. Floyd called him out on many occasions and the reason it didn’t happen is because Manny wouldn't agree to Olympic style drug testing… why? Floyd has never made it up to 154 for the 3 154 fights that he has had.Īre you kidding? That ship sailed long ago and I’m sure Manny’s even glad he didn’t board it. Their would be trilogies because of the talent. I would love to see any of these fights but Floyd is too good to assume that he would lose to any of these guys. Pernell Whittaker is my favorite fighter from the list. His Defense is superior to Leonards but Leonards power caused Duran to pause not sure if Mayweather could do the same at 147. I havent seen Floyd move that much in a long time. Watching Leonard Duran is interesting because of how much Leonard moved against Duran. Hearns is DEFINITELY a threat in my eyes. Hell his power didnt carry to 147 he could hurt people 140 and below easy. I dont believe the fight would ever happen. His father with no punching power faired well for a few rounds. Floyd is obviously better than his father. Then he did fairly well in 2 other rounds before he attempted to rope a dope or was outworked by Leonard in the last 1 minute of those rounds. I had Maywether winning 3 of the first 5 rounds.
